My Experience at the Vintage Postcard Show and How Much I Spent
Plus, another Postcard Subscription, Hollywood celebrity mansions, and stats
Hello beautiful peeps!
I made it to the L.A. County Vintage Postcard show this past Saturday. (Sept. 14th, 2024)
I felt like a shy kid entering a new classroom for the first time. I was awkward, and completely lost on what to do. Fortunately, my husband and my sister were with me.
After wandering around the venue for a bit, the three of us finally got into the groove. (But not before over-spending at the first table we browsed situated at the front entrance)
It took me less than ten minutes to spend $50 which led to buyer’s remorse when I discovered the real DEALS!
My most expensive purchase is the above postcard for which I paid $20. I had a whole stack of postcards in my hand at this vendor’s table but had to dwindle it down because I only budgeted $200-$300 for the entire event.
Lesson Learned!
Don’t spend money at the first table you see.
Then I came across the .25 cent boxes. I was only able to thumb through one of these boxes because it was so crowded. And of course, you could tell that all of the experienced postcard people were thumbing through these boxes. The speed at which their fingers were moving was mesmerizing as they searched for their perfect cards.
I bought 40 cards from the .25 cent box. ($10)
I wanted to look through other inexpensive boxes, but it was just too crowded, and I was impatient. I could have stayed there all day and still not seen everything, but because my husband and sister were with me, we left after just two hours.

The above photos show a glimpse of what I experienced.
Next time, I’ll know what to expect, and I’ll be prepared.
My google alerts is doing its’ job. It alerted me to another cool monthly postcard subscription, for which I subscribed after reading the details and seeing some previous artwork.
The postcards are handmade by an artist who Sketches his favorite buildings.
He has different monthly tiers starting at $5 per month. I opted for the $12 monthly subscription.
I look forward to receiving my first piece of mail from him.
You can check out his postcard subscription and see for yourself if it’s right for you. Or just get inspired by him.
